About R$214 million of the PIS (paid to private workers) has not yet been withdrawn, according to Caixa Econômica Federal. As for the Pasep (paid to public servants), there are R$ 95 million that have not yet been withdrawn, according to Banco do Brasil.
The PIS-Pasep 2020/2021, referring to the base year 2019, was paid between July 16, 2020 and February 11, 2021. The PIS calendar followed the month of birth of private workers and the Pasep calendar followed the final number of the public servant’s registration.
Due to the readjustment of the minimum wage in 2021, the amount of the salary bonus readjusted for those who had not yet withdrawn and started to vary between R$ 92 and R$ 1,100, according to the months worked in 2019. For those who worked 12 months, for example, received the maximum value.
In other words: those who entitled to these amounts but have not yet withdrawn them need to do so until today, June 30th – otherwise, they will lose access to the benefit until the next calendar.
To withdraw the PIS, the worker who has a Citizen’s Card and a registered password can go to a Caixa self-service terminal or to a lottery shop. If you do not have a Citizen’s Card, you can withdraw the amount at any Caixa branch – just present your identification document.
To withdraw the Pasep, public servants can go to a Banco do Brasil branch with the official identification document.
Who is entitled to the PIS-Pasep salary bonus?
Formal workers who received, on average, up to two minimum wages per month and performed paid work for at least 30 days in 2019, are entitled to the PIS-Pasep salary bonus.
It is also necessary to enroll in the PIS-Pasep for at least five years and have the data updated by the employer in the Annual Social Information List (Rais).
How was the payment for PIS-Pasep 2020/2021 made?
Private sector workers who were already Caixa Econômica account holders received PIS in their existing account. Those who did not receive it in digital savings account created free of charge and automatically.
Anyone who, for some reason, cannot receive the salary bonus in an existing account or in the social savings account can withdraw the benefit at branches, ATMs, lottery units and Caixa Aqui correspondents.
For more information about the PIS, workers can contact the call center on 0800-726-0207, or consult the website www.caixa.gov.br/PIS.
In the case of public servants, Banco do Brasil account holders receive payment directly into their account and the others were able to withdraw the benefit. If this has not happened, it is necessary to seek information at a Banco do Brasil branch or contact the numbers 4004-0001 (in capitals and metropolitan regions) or 0800-729-0001 (other cities).
Both private workers and public servants who have not yet withdrawn the benefit have until today, June 30, 2021, to withdraw. Otherwise, the benefit can only be withdrawn in the next PIS-Pasep calendar, which has not yet been announced.
